A Wild and Crazy Guy

The Festrunk Brothers—Georg and Yortuk—are two Czech immigrants who believe they understand American dating culture. They do not. They wear tight pants, open shirts, and gold chains. They approach every woman with "We are two wild and crazy guys!" and are mystified when this doesn't work.

Martin created the characters for Saturday Night Live, but the phrase became the title of his second album and the defining image of his 1970s superstardom. "Two wild and crazy guys" entered the American lexicon instantly.

What makes it more than a catchphrase is the character work underneath. Georg and Yortuk aren't just buffoons—they're genuinely trying. They studied American culture and drew all the wrong conclusions. Their confidence is unshakeable precisely because their understanding is completely wrong.

It's immigration comedy decades before immigration comedy was a genre. Martin found something universally funny in the gap between how a culture sees itself and how outsiders interpret it. The Festrunks think they're playing the game correctly. The joke is that the game is unwinnable.
