Morpheus Rap

In the middle of a stand-up set, Buress announces he wrote a rap song as Morpheus from The Matrix. He then performs it—complete with beat—rapping about offering people the red pill, fighting agents, and the general philosophy of being Morpheus.

There is no setup. There is no punchline. He just wrote a Morpheus rap and decided to perform it during a comedy special. The audience doesn't know what to do with this information, which is exactly the point.

It's Buress at his most uncompromising: he made something that amused him and decided it should exist in the world, audience expectations be damned. The confidence required to derail your own special for a Morpheus rap is the same confidence that makes his observational material land—he trusts his own instincts completely.
