Ain't That Better

Patrice opens his set by refusing to let the audience stay comfortable. He starts asking the crowd questions designed to make them admit things they'd never say in polite company—about race, sex, attraction, and honesty.

One by one, he gets people to drop their social masks. After each admission, he hits them with the same phrase: "Ain't that better?"

It's not just crowd work—it's group therapy administered by a man with zero interest in your feelings. Patrice believed comedy should be about truth, and this bit is his thesis statement.

By the end, the audience is looser, more honest, and completely in his hands. He's broken down the wall between performer and crowd by forcing everyone to acknowledge the gap between what we say and what we think.
