The bit that became a cultural phenomenon. Tom Segura describes getting his bike stolen from his garage—a nice bike, one he actually used—and watching the security footage of the theft.

What he sees is a homeless man casually walking into his garage and riding away. And something shifts inside Segura. Something he's not proud of, but something he's going to tell you about anyway.

"I don't care about them anymore," he says flatly, meaning homeless people generally. The audience gasps, laughs, doesn't know how to react. "I used to. I used to care. I used to give a shit. I don't anymore. I'm not gonna pretend."

From there, the bit escalates. Segura describes driving past homeless encampments now and feeling nothing. He imagines increasingly dark scenarios. The audience is uncomfortable, but they're also laughing, because Segura has found something true: the gap between our stated values and our actual feelings when those values are tested.

The word "BIKES!" became a rallying cry, chanted at live shows, printed on merchandise. But the bit itself is more complex than the meme suggests. It's about the moment when abstract compassion meets concrete personal loss—and compassion loses.

Segura isn't advocating for cruelty. He's confessing to it. And confession, even ugly confession, is what makes his comedy hit different.
